My Bestest Book

I am a big reader. I always have a book on the go (sometimes two!). I would seriously be lost without something to read and on the rare occasion I run out of new books to read I feel like someone has ripped my right arm off. About ten years ago my Nana gave me a copy of 'The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood' by Rebecca Wells to read and it became one of my most favourite books EVER. I can't count how many times I've read it or any of the other books about the deliscious Ya Yas. It's a story of friendship, coming of age, making mistakes, accepting that you've made mistakes and piecing your life back together when it falls apart. It's become a bit of a security blanket for me and I turn to it whenever if feel the need for a bit of comfort and familiarity. I feel like I know all the characters and it's like re-visiting old friends as I read the first page for the umpteenth time :) How about you guys? Any books out there that you read and re-read and never get bored of?

Let me know. I'm always after new reading material. God bless Amazon!!

Well, despite what might be expected of me at my ripe old age, I still love Dr Seuss, in particularly Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are. Grown up books don’t rhyme so well, or have such good pictures :) Who’d be a grown up?

Dear Loola,
found you on the blog of The Blogger Formerly Known As - and was interested in your "Big Bad Wolf" because the day before I just searched the Internet about the "Little Bad Wolf" (whom they later changed to "Little Good Wolf").
I read a lot - and it is absolutely interesting how a novel changes when your read it a decade later (Madam Bovary; Effi Briest, The Great Gatsby).
I very often reread the very funny books of E.M.Delafield "Diary of a Provincial Lady" etc, or "Mapp and Lucia" by E.F.Benson - or the novels of Elizabeth v. Arnim, e.g. Enchanted April.

(that's spooky - I found your link in th coffee shop and the two commetns above are people whom I've commented to in the last couple of days!)

However, my read and re-read books have to be Jane Austen - I have her complete works in one huge volume and absolutely adore them. Other good reads: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (Mark Haddon) and anything b Nick Hornby. Just finished Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris - loved it.
