Not so 1950s Housewife
I LOVE the 1950s. The clothes, the hairstyles, the colours. I love all the pastel pinks and blues and the lovely lemons and I'm working on making my kitchen look as 50s as possible. It's not like I cook in it so I might as well use the space to store pretty stuff. I really am a hopeless cook. I'm not interested enough in food to spend hours slaving over a hot stove and on the rare occassion I do use my oven in the way God intended, I get distracted by a noise or a book and completely forget I'm 'cooking' until I get a wailing reminder from my over-worked smoke alarm. Bad, I know, but I do eat fairly healthily without having to have a constant battle with the chuffing cooker (who knows without a shadow of doubt that I hate him. Yes it's a HIM)!! But I figure thats no excuse for abandoning the homeliness. It's the first room you see when you walk in to my house so it still needs to look nice.

Hey Lola. Gorgeous kitchen, right? :) I'm sorry about not completing the Whipped challenge. I'm hopeless at baking but thought this might be the encouragement I needed. Then I get all scared and had visions of having to put up pics of burned, charred stuff :(

Love all that stuff, so cute! Do you watch the show 'Mad Men'? Its set in the 50's and the hair, makeup and clothes the girls wear on it is awesome!

My sister is CRAZY for the 50s too! But she is into the real deal, ya know? She even found old 50s wallpaper and redid her living room and dining room with it. She can tell you all about the famous designers and furniture makers and she is just a freak about it.
Not really MY style, but both you and her make it look like it should be my style.
I always say that if you can read a box you can cook!
This is true!! But if you add lazy to can't cook the issue becomes a much bigger one. Sigh.
